If you're new to the sport, navigating the world of tennis can be a little daunting. If you're a new tennis parent, this process can also be a little unnerving, especially if your child is interested in competitive tennis and has more ambitious goals. Here at One Love Tennis, we believe that it's never too early for your child to start playing competitively as long as they can hold a racket and serve. The beauty of matchplay is that it allows players to experience being under pressure and LOSING, which is something one should get under their belt and learn to embrace early on. Quick segway, but consider this tidbit that was pulled from the Life Coach School with Brooke Castillo regarding the concept of anti-fragility. (If you're into podcasts, check this one out! Episode 284 covers this idea). If you're fragile, you're avoiding any kind of risk. Then, there's being robust which means you can stand up to any challenges that come. Anti-fragility is not only being able to stand up to challenges and failures but using them to learn and grow and ultimately become stronger. So, register your junior tennis player for tournaments and get them started on the road to championship play and closer to anti-fragility! Below are some beginner-friendly options that you can look into today.
